Through the 2010 season, we've had 25 different golfers compete in the Annual Myrtle Beach Cup. Click the golfer's name or picture to check out more photos, stats and info about each one. If you have more/better photos of a certain player, send them to Zack. Right now I don't have enough to fill up everyone's individual pages.

Kyle Baker (aka El Capitan, Strata Gone)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2001
What's his story? Kyle was the original organizer of the first Myrtle Beach trip back in 2001. Kyle is infamous for hitting a specific brand of golf ball very far into the woods, the TopFlight Strata ... hence one of his nick names, Strata Gone! One also has to think Kyle is the biggest Star Wars fan of the group. Can he use The Force to help his golf game? Find out soon we will. May the Force be with you, el Capitan.

Ryan Verbruggen (aka RV)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2001
What's his story? What can you say about Ryan that we don't already know? One thing we all know is that at least once a year he promises to give up golf forever. Something you might not know is that he can hit his 9 iron 180 yards if you tell him that he can't do it. Ryan is the only golfer who has been to Myrtle Beach every year since the beginning in 2001, and he does a great job getting the golf package and condos reserved every year. Just watch out once he gets a couple or nine beers in him.

Zack Maze (aka Z)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2001
What's his story? Zack missed his first year ever in 2009, so he's looking for a big comeback in 2010. While Ryan does all the hard work putting the trip together, Zack gets to do the website and send out the emails. As far as his golf game goes, he usually has a good nine and a bad nine. You will always hear Zack saying something like "if I would have just not triple bogeyed the 12th, I would have been fine." Yeah right, and the 14th, 16th and 17th too.

Pete Renkens (aka Big Pete)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2001
What's his story? If you know Pete, you know that there's really no place to stand safely while he's taking his shot. He once skulled a wedge shot into a curb, and his ball shot right back at him and nailed him in the shin. I think he also tried to take out Sean with a big shank one year. You never really knew if Pete was going to hit it 300 yards down the middle of the fairway, or if you needed to hide behind the cart.
Dave Rundblad (aka Big Dave, Tornado, Panda)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2002
What's his story? Dave is always calm, cool and collected on the golf course. Nothing can get him rattled. Dave is one of the biggest hitters in the group. If he hits the fairway, he's probably going to win the long drive. Dave was also the first to use the golf clap on this trip. However, he wasn't clapping at a golf shot.

Jim Maze (aka Big Daddy Maze)
Home State: IN      First Year: 2002
What's his story? Jim "Big Daddy" Maze is Zack's dad, and first came on the Myrtle Beach trip in 2002. He took a break for a few years and returned in 2007 and 2008. He's done well going 2-0 in his one-on-one matches in those years. He is known for using intimidation tactics during those matches which make his opponent have a hard time focusing.
James Bertucci (aka Tooch)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2004
What's his story? James hasn't been on the trip since 2005, and we need to get him back. He's the ultimate athlete. He skis, he plays football, and who knows what else, but his athleticism shows in his golf game. There's no shot he's afraid to try, and you always have a tough match when going up against him.
Jim Stepp (aka Fresh Prince)
Home State: NE      First Year: 2004
What's his story? Stepp is best known for his length on the course (and off the course from what Greg says). He's got a silky smooth swing (again Greg says off the course too) so your best bet is to try to distract him. If you need advice about that, ask Greg, he seems to know a lot about Jim.
Creighton Petkovich (aka Petko)
Home State: WI      First Year: 2004
What's his story? Creighton enjoys long walks on the beach, margaritas and sleeping on the sidewalk. Ok, maybe he never said anything about beaches or margaritas, but he has slept on the sidewalk. If he's ever AWOL, check the sidewalk or the middle of the fairway, because he doesn't miss very often.
Sean Clem (aka Clemstein)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2004
What's his story? Pound for pound, there's no question Sean gets the most distance out of his frame. He's also willing to make a wager on almost any shot on the course. If he can't beat you for the match, he'll try to make his money back on one shot. He does well in the clutch, as long as he doesn't have to make a four putt to win!
Chris Bryant (aka CB)
Home State: FL      First Year: 2005
What's his story? CB has one of the shortest backswings you'll ever see. But, he gives it plenty of power and is usually pretty right on target. He won both closest to the pin contests in 2007, proof of his accuracy from that compact swing. He's also always dressed right out of a Gap magazine, with his plaids, pastels and a smile.
Joe Oh (aka Oh Joe)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2005
What's his story? Joe is rock solid on the course. He's tough to distract and hits the clutch shot when needed. He holds the current record for the earliest win in a one-on-one match, closing it out on the 12th hole. I think it's got something to do with his magic visors. He's always got that visor on.
Scott Clawson (aka C-Dog)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2005
What's his story? Scott is a quiet guy, at least until he gets a bag of ice and a 12-pack in the back of his cart. That's when he comes alive. Coincidentally, his golf game falls apart when all that's left is a bag of ice, which is usually about the 7th hole. In a related story, Clawson also has the heaviest golf bag, at least at the beginning of the round.
Thad Holden (aka Greg probably has a nickname for Thad, but chances are it's not appropriate)
Home State: IN      First Year: 2005
What's his story? Thad is famous for his golfing sandals and the funny sunburn it makes on his feet after a long day of golf. I guess the sunburn from 2005 was so bad that he hasn't been able to make it back to Myrtle Beach since then. Get some aloe, man.
Chris Gluck (aka Flav, Glucksta)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2006
What's his story? I'm not sure there's enough space on the internet to accurately describe Gluck. So there's 5 things you need to know. 1) I've never heard anyone call him Chris. 2) He once made a snow angel in a sandtrap. 3) He needs a mute button. 4) He carries a 4 wood that actually is made of wood. 5) He lost the keys.
Eric Hinkle (aka Hink)
Home State: IN      First Year: 2006
What's his story? Hinkle is the first lefty in the group. He thinks he's tough because he lived in Texas for awhile. He also talks to his golf ball, and your golf ball too. Bite! He can putt though. Ask Till about the putt he made on 18 in their 1 on 1 match in 2006.
Greg Vosberg (aka Roy, Vos)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2006
What's his story? There's one thing wrong with one of Greg's photos... can you figure it out? It's actually something that's never been photographed before, and nobody would believe it until now. It's these one of a kind moments that make the Myrtle Beach trip worth while. Did I mention he is sponsored by Grey Goose?
Jim Till (aka Till, Jimmy)
Home State: IN      First Year: 2006
What's his story? Till reminds me of Ernie Els, because he has a big easy lanky swing. You would think he's taking half speed swings until he rips it 20 yards past your drive. His only problem is he doesn't know which was it's going to go, he just knows it's going to go a long way.
Mike Schorr (aka The only people who know his nickname are no longer around to tell you what it is.)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2006
What's his story? Mike might not look like your typical golfer, but hey, neither does John Daly. He has another thing in common with John Daly - you guessed it - a drinking problem. Ok, so maybe that's not true, but he does crush his drives.
Chad Kellum (aka CK)
Home State: IN      First Year: 2007
What's his story? Chad took Hinkle to the wire in their 1 on 1 match in 2007. Oh wait, I think that's because Hinkle was giving Chad strokes if he did shots or downed a beer. Nobody is really sure what happened that day on the course. Either way, I bet it was a fun round. Chad had a rough go of it in 2007, and will be looking for his first win next time around.
Eric Meek (aka Meek)
Home State: IN      First Year: 2007
What's his story? I think I heard Meek once say that he wanted to sell his house, buy an RV and just go wherever the open road took him. Basically the same way he follows his golf ball around the course! A beer in one hand, and a driver in the other, that's the way to go. Either way Meek has a great time on the course, and so does everybody golfing with him.
Jack Thompson (aka JFT)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2007
What's his story? Jack is the only golfer to have a career undefeated record for the Myrtle Beach trip. He accomplished this in his only appearance in 2007, but I know he'll be back soon to defend his record. Jack was also part of the infamous Lost Keys fiasco, but I think he was an innocent victim of the situation. On a related note, recruiting Jack has been Gluck's best contribution to the trip.
Dave Halliburton (aka DJ Diamond Dave)
Home State: OK      First Year: 2008
What's his story? Dave is a true cowboy from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He's got a southern drawl that is as unique as his banana slice. You can tell it's Dave by either one. He's actually a pretty talented golfer... I've never seen anybody be able to slice a putt like he can. I swear he can make the ball curve uphill.
Andy Hobbs (aka Hobbs)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2008
What's his story? Hobbs is a man of many talents. Not only is a pretty good golfer, but he's a regular on the Midwest Professional Yo Yo Tour. He always has the Yo Yo with him, and if he doesn't like you, he'll nail you between the eyes with it. Seriously, you think I'm joking?
Luke Hinkle (aka Leopold "Butters" Stotch)
Home State: IL      First Year: 2009
What's his story? As far as I know, this guy isn't related to the other Hinkle who has come on the trip!? Sean recruited Luke for the 2009 trip, and from what I've heard he had a pretty good year. Luke is no rookie anymore, but he's still the low man on the totem pole so feel free to treat him like a rookie. Also, I still don't have any golf photos of Luke. Anyone?
